Actor Peadar Lamb passes away aged 87

TRIBUTES have been paid to the celebrated actor Peadar Lamb who has died at the age of 87.

Married to Fair City and Glenroe actress Geraldine Plunkett, Peadar passed away peacefully at his home in Glenageary, south Co Dublin, on Friday.

His stellar career on stage and screen spanned more than six decades and he had movie roles in The Lilac Bus, Far and

Away, The Field and The Treaty. He also featured in Fair City and Ros na Run and was noted for his comedic role of Fargo Boyle in a 1998 episode of Father Ted, and a role in Killinasku­lly.

The show’s creator Pat Shortt tweeted: “Very sad to hear of the passing of the immensely talented Peadar Lamb. I have fond memories of working with him. RIP.”
