Hero post-op cancer boy’s school start

- BY JOHN KELLY

CANCER boy Reece Holt turned up to his first day of school despite having just had a third brain op.

Proud mum Rachel O’neil called the 11-yearold a hero and said: “There is no way cancer was stopping this boy walking into Lancaster Royal Grammar School for his first day.”

Reece was diagnosed with a rare malignant tumour after suddenly collapsing at the family home in Morecambe, Lancs, in May last year.

He has been through radiotherapy and 12 cycles of chemo. But two weeks ago a scan showed the cancer was back and he needed surgery.

Rachel said despite this Reece just wants to help other children suffering from cancer.
