Coastal area warning over strong winds

-

THE public was warned yesterday to take caution in coastal areas as 110kmh winds and high seas are set to batter Ireland.

Met Eireann issued a Yellow Alert as the country prepares to batten down the hatches ahead of the bad weather.

And the Irish Coast Guard advised the public to take extreme caution in exposed areas.

A spokesman said: “The Coastguard advises care on exposed coasts, cliffs and piers, harbour walls and promenades along the Atlantic seaboard particularly at high tide.

“Remember to stay back, stay high and stay dry.”
