Gun guard as Arena reopens

- BY PHIL CARDY

POLICE armed with Sig Sauer rifles are on patrol as Manchester Arena reopens four months after 22 died in a terror attack.

Increased security at the venue last night included metal detectors, searches and a ban on large bags. Charlotte Campbell, whose 15-year-old daughter Olivia died in the blast, said: “We are not scared. The music’s back and that’s all Olivia would have wanted.”

A 14,000 crowd, including fans from the tragic Ariana Grande gig in May, saw Noel Gallagher headline a benefit show.
