Your op
I love keeping fit – mountain biking and hill walking. But painful bunions were starting to affect my lifestyle, so I wanted them removed.
My operation took place under general anaesthetic at Spire Bushey Hospital in Hertfordshire. My surgeon, Mr David Gordon, used a new technique which uses several small incisions before the bone is cut and fixed with small screws. It means there is less tissue damage and a faster recovery time.
Six months post op, I am running five miles and going on 30-mile bike rides. I have full mobility in my feet and, for the first time in years, I can wear four-inch heels without any pain.
