Billy Joe’s game plan
BILLY JOE SAUNDERS credits a ‘‘roadkill’’ diet for his lean and mean shape ahead of a WBO middleweight title defence against Willy Monroe Junior on Saturday.
The 28-year-old is being lined up to face the winner of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, who will put their IBO, IBF, WBA and WBC middleweight belts on the line the same night.
Saunders, who has been training in Fuerteventura, said: “My traditional foods are game, off the land: rabbit, hare, venison, pheasant.
“It’s a low-fat diet. There’s plenty of roadkill over here.”
