Keane to get better
CONNACHT coach Kieran Keane believes his side’s second defeat of the PRO14 season won’t prove “fatal” after they lost disappointingly away to Dragons.
Dragons had not won in the league since last January but tries from Hallam Amos and Elliot Dee pushed them out of sight in the first-half at Rodney Parade.
They led by 21-3 at halftime and all Connacht could muster was a try from Quinn Roux in the second-half but it was too late for Keane’s side.
Connacht remained third in Conference A on Friday night but it was a poor result for the 2015-16 champions ahead of tougher games to come against Cardiff Blues, Scarlets and Ulster.
“It’s a long competition so we’ll just box on,” said Keane (above).
“The boys’ heads are down but it’s natural we’re disappointed.
“But it will be OK, it’s not fatal I don’t think.
“In the second-half we came back really strong. We had a poor start, there is no doubting it, we gifted them a couple of tries.”
