- BY ANITA MCSORLEY

A LETTER from Albert Einstein criticising founder of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud has sold for €9,000.

The genius physicist tells son Eduard that Freud lectures “didn’t convince me his theories were correct”.

The 1930s letter – in German – was bought at an auction in Nottingham.

Last month three letters from Einstein, including one warning of German dictator Adolf Hitler prior to World War II, were up for auction in the US.

The letters were written to his friend Michele Besso, a Swiss-italian engineer who was also credited on the original version of his theory of special relativity.
