Kalash over monument

A NEW monument in honour of a Russian man who invented the AK-47 assault riffle was changed after it was discovered it included images of a gun used by Nazis.

It emerged the piece included a weapon used by the Germans just three days after the statue of Russian inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov was unveiled in Moscow.

Sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov said: “I didn’t do that.”
