Raunchy pub sign is facing a spanking

A CONTROVERSIAL sign over a pub is to be removed following a raft of complaints from locals.

The BDSM billboard at the Black Dog Saloon and Mezcaleria on the Cork’s North Main Street has divided opinion since the premises opened in 2013.

Publican Benny Mccabe had applied to keep the sign in place but it now must come down after an order from Cork County Council.

He said the sign, described in one complaint as “aesthetically vile”, would not go in the skip but would be displayed in the bar’s smoking area and beer garden.
