Gun-wielding ‘pirate’ held after incident
A MAN was arrested after allegedly producing a sword and gun in a busy Dublin city centre shop – while dressed as a pirate.
The 35-year-old is believed to have entered the store at around 4am yesterday and produced the weapons upon leaving.
A Garda spokeswoman said: “A man was arrested on Dame Street at approximately 4am this morning.
“He was taken to Pearse Street Garda station and is currently detained under Section 30 OASA, 1939 and remains in custody.
“It is alleged he entered a shop and upon leaving produced a sword and gun.”
