Wenger blast at group bore
ARSENE WENGER believes the Champions League has lost some of its appeal and feels the audience figures have diminished in the group stages.
The Gunners boss says he was ‘privileged’ to manage nearly 200 games in Europe’s biggest competition and is missing seeing his side take part this season.
But Wenger claims the group stages are not exciting, saying: “I have nearly 200 games in the Champions League so I can feel privileged.
“Do I still follow it? I think that the group stage, there are not many interesting games so I choose one or two that are interesting.
“It’s a routine now in the group stage. Look at the audiences, it has lost some attraction power.”
