Ozil sees his future with Jose
MESUT OZIL will snub a new contract at Arsenal – in the hope of securing a shock move to Manchester United.
The midfielder is keen to link up again with Jose Mourinho, his manager during their time together at Real Madrid.
The German has decided to run down his contract, which means he will be a free agent next summer.
That means Arsenal will face losing BOTH Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for nothing – with Manchester City the likely destination for the Chile forward, who is also in the final year of his deal.
Ozil’s advisers have put out feelers over a potential move to Old Trafford and the feedback has been encouraging.
Mourinho is a big fan and would encourage the United hierarchy to make a move for a player who will not cost a fee.
That would then free up the cash to meet the wage demands of the playmaker, who has been asking Arsenal to increase his wages to around £250,000 a week.
