Tragic Irish lover’s sensational claim in letter to Hollywood superstar
JIM Carrey led Irish lover Cathriona White into a world of “cocaine, prostitutes, mental abuse and disease”, a letter alleged yesterday.
The 30-year-old, from Cappawhite, Co Tipperary, made a number of claims against the actor, 55, in a note she is said to have written on her ipad in 2013.
The make-up artist, who took her own life in 2015, wrote: “You did good things for me but being with you broke me.”

A note to the star has been unearthed which alleges that he introduced Tipperary-born make-up artist Cathriona White to drugs, prostitutes and sexually transmitted diseases.
Lawyers acting for her family discovered the April 2013 note on her ipad, but it is not clear if she ever sent it to the Liar Liar actor.
They have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Canadian, 55, after she took her own life in September 2015 at the age of 30.

extorting money from him. The letter accuses Mr Carrey of giving her herpes, and of destroying her self esteem during their on-off relationship, which started in 2012.
She wrote: “Before you, I might not have had very much but I had respect, I was a happy person.
“I loved life, I was confident and I felt good in my skin and was proud of most decisions I made. I met you, you introduced me to cocaine, prostitutes, mental abuse and disease.
“You did good things for me but being with you broke me down as a person Jim. I was promised Jekyll and instead I got Hyde.
“Because I love you I would have stuck out Hyde all year and done everything he wanted, to be with Jekyll for five of those, but you threw me away when you absorbed anything worthwhile.”
Mr Carrey has been accused of giving her pills to kill herself and gave her STDS without warning her he had been infected.
It emerged this week he had paid her an undisclosed sum of money in 2013 to settle her STD claims. But he insists he never had the disease, that she contracted it before their relationship, and subsequently levelled claims at him in revenge for a break-up. He said she killed herself because she felt guilt over extortion, and was upset at a message her mother had sent.
In a statement, Mr Carrey stated he’d filed a complaint against her lawyer Fillipo Marchino, The X Law Group, her ex-husband Mark Burton and mother Brigid Sweetman.
He said: “Unfortunately, I made the mistake three years ago of giving in and settling false claims against me by Mr Marchino on behalf of Cat, as mounting a public defence is a very costly and painful process.
“I felt Cat was being exploited by Marchino. Since this case was filed, I have discovered the depth of deception behind those false claims, the deception decent people fall for, because to us, such behaviour is unimaginable. I will not give in a second time to these same fraudulent charges initiated by Cat’s husband in name but not substance Mark Burton, and her estranged mother. “Nor am I responsible for what these desperate characters have inadvertently unearthed about the woman I adored. I was blinded by affection.
“Regardless, I will hold a place of empathy and forgiveness for Cat and continue to focus on the many blessings in this life.”
