Easy deal for Lionel to sign up as judge
Richie LIONEL Richie has signed up to become a judge on the revived American Idol.
The legendary singer will be joining fellow judges Luke Bryan and Katy Perry as well host Ryan Seacrest as the show returns after being cancelled in 2015.
The deal with the 68-year-old puts the series back on schedule as shooting on live auditions is to begin on Tuesday.
ABC Entertainment Channing Dungey said: “Luke and Lionel are the perfect additions to round out our panel of judges for American Idol on ABC.
“In their respective genres of music, both Luke and Lione possess insurmountable popularity and award-winning talent that are undeniable.”
