A last cuddle a and giggle for the greatest of great-grans

- BY JANINE YAQOOB

HERE is beaming actress Liz Dawn in one of the final pictures before she died – cradling her giggling great-grand-daughter.

Little Rose and Liz chuckle away together in a snap cherished by the star’s family.

Liz’s grand-daughter Courtney Swan shared the picture on Facebook and paid tribute to the star. She wrote: “My gran found so much joy from being a greatgrandma. I am so blessed that my girls got to experience her infectious spirit and character.

“She never lost her humour and wit throughout her illness and would always light up a room.”

Liz died last Tuesday, aged 77. Her funeral will be held on Friday at Salford Cathedral.

She played Corrie’s Vera Duckworth for 34 years and a flood of fellow actors will attend the service, including the likes of Bill Roache, 85, and Michael Le Vell, 52. Corrie bosses have agreed to halt filming to allow stars to be there. Long-time friend Alan Tarmey, the son of Liz’s on-screen husband Bill, will also be there. Alan used to perform reiki – a form of light healing using the palms – on the actress.
