QAMirror’s Presley funeral edition My grandad and I have three issues of the Daily Mirror from the time that Elvis Presley died. One, dated Friday, August 19, 1977, covered his funeral. Can you tell us how much they might be worth? Carl, via email You might have €100 worth of memorablia there, assuming they are original copies and not commemorative reprints. Copies of such pages won’t be too rare as no doubt many readers would have saved such an edition. But from the photos, yours are in good condition. I’d aim for €55 on the one announcing Elvis’s death and €30 for the other two. Or as Elvis might have said, “Well, it’s one for the money...” I inherited an inflatable plastic globe which I believe came from an Iron Maiden concert more than 30 years ago. It was thrown into the audience and my relative claimed it and kept it in his loft. Sadly, it has several rips and tears. Is it worth anything or shall I bin it? Joe Moddie, via email Heavy Metal fans may well go for this item, which would have come from the British band’s 1982 album The Number of the Beast and their subsequent tour. If a one-off and in good condition, it could be worth several hundred euro. If it was made available to fans in general or sold at the concerts, then perhaps half that. And less still once you take the damage into account. This might be one to consider selling online to let the market decide its value. Iron Maiden
