More details of the huge revamp for Britain’s favourite Royal Caribbean ship, Independence of the Seas, have been revealed.

The 3,600-passenger Indy will sail from Southampton in summer 2018 after a multimillion pound makeover that will see:

An expanded Splashaway Bay waterpark with slides, cannons, fountains, pools and a drench bucket.

The introduction of speciality Asianinspired dining venue Izumi, featuring fresh sushi, and chefs cooking tableside on teppanyaki grills.

New lounges and Panoramic Ocean View cabins with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows.

An upgraded ice rink and a revamped theatre showing Broadway show Grease.

A top-deck Trampoline Zone, an escape room and a laser tag arena have already been confirmed. Travel agents throughout the UK were invited to suggest what could be added to the Indy to compete with newer fleetmates such as Harmony of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas, with the winning suggestion being the trampoline park.
