Ruth proves a bit of a rough diamond

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

LOOSE Woman Ruth Langsford had another disastrous dance at the Strictly movie night – only saved by the hilarious comments of her professional partner Anton du Beke.

After a roasting from the judges for her rubbish rumba to Diamonds are Forever, she scored 15 out of 40.

Anton quipped: “Well, I had a lovely time. She’s a work in progress. By March we should have about 45.”

There was some consolation for poor Ruth though. The Rev Richard Coles scored even less – getting just 14 points for his paso doble to the Theme from Flash Gordon.

But Brian Conley was laughing all the way, coming back from last week’s dance-off to score 22 for his American Smooth dressed as the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz.

After some promising comments from the judges, a delighted Brian told Claudia: “I needed that”.

Last night Apprentice boss Lord Sugar appeared to call for Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas to be fired, tweeting: “Next season Anton should be head judge. #antonheadjudge.”
