Talk Tvdeburca Irish Blind Date’s next Porter call for rising star Al

Al with the show’s Tara Flynn “We could absolutely do another series if we were asked – it’s fun. Some people came with party pieces, some came with costume.” So what can viewers expect from the new version of Blind Date? A family-friendly, filth-free show, according to Al. He added: “We were conscious that this wasn’t some salacious, dirty show. Even with me involved. It’s more my panto and radio than my stand-up comedy. We were conscious that this is for the whole family.

“It’ll be big. It’ll be a big weekend show and hopefully one that people will talk about.

“The holidays are good. There are passports and bags involved. There are people going to very sunny countries.”

The star also claimed that he is not worried about comparisons to the original.

He said: “They brought it Al is following in footsteps of TV legend Cill Black back in the UK and Paul O’grady was hosting it. Paul brought me over to see it and mentored me.

“Paul was Cilla’s friend, but nobody has even brought it up to him. Nothing is ever going to beat Cilla Black and our Graham on a Saturday night

“We change nothing about the format. We haven’t said, well because it’s a modern era there should be a Tinder aspect or a sex aspect.”

Blind Date starts tonight at 9PM on TV3.
