VOGUE WILLIAMS TALKS ABOUT ONE OF THE SUGAR BABIES SHE’S MET

TV star Vogue Williams was brought to tears after meeting an innocent 19-year-old virgin who was in a creepy “sugar baby” arrangement — with a friend of her uncle’s.

The broadcaster met the teen at Ireland’s first sugar baby coaching event, and the model and DJ, 31, was visibly upset when she heard her story.

Vogue said: “I honestly feel upset after talking to her. She is a really young 19. She currently has a sugar daddy.

“She is a virgin so hasn’t slept with anyone yet. She has told me she is really worried, she does not really want to sleep with a man over twice her age for the first time and ruin something special.”

A sugar baby is when a young woman enters an arrangement with a usually older man – a “sugar daddy” – for gifts.

The model tells the last episode of the RTE series, Vogue: For Love or Money? the man the teen hooked up with on sugar baby website seekingarrangement. com recognised her.

She said: “He told her, ‘I know you’. It turns out he is one of her uncle’s friends. I think she is lost. She says she has got no money, she is in college. I can’t believe I’m sitting through this, it is so wrong.”

The presenter told Brook Urick, the American organiser of the coaching event, that her portrayal of sugar daddysugar baby relationships was not honest.

But Urick hit back saying: “We did not target her, she came to us. We can’t control what you do off the site.”

Even thinking about the teenager leaves the broadcaster upset.

Vogue said: “It is so wrong. She is 19 and going out with her uncle’s friend.

“She does not know what she is doing. She is worried about when it gets to the sex stage. These are such young girls and they are being targeted by older men.”

Urick had told the girls who attended the event men often wanted to help

them go through college or with their career. She said: “If you are a real sugar baby you shouldn’t just be looking for money because there is so much more a sugar daddy can offer you.

“They always want the new girl, they always want the girl they cannot get. It is fun to travel for free, to get on a plane you didn’t pay for. Never have sex on the first date.

“If you are discussing what you want to be paid you are a sex worker. Sugar babies are not paid, they are gifted. If a

man is offering money he wants a sex worker.” Instead, the men should give gifts, or pay for treats and girls should wait until the third date before talking cash. But Vogue told the documentary that when she created a profile on Seeking Arrangement – the biggest sugar baby site in the world with nine million members in 139 countries – she was swamped with sex requests. She interviewed its founder Brandon Wade who insisted sugar daddies were busy or lonely, without the inclination for normal dating. Vogue said on screen: “It’s funny how Brandon is the nicest gentleman, who only wants to bring girls on dates, when everyone I have met on Seeking Arrangement just wants to bang me.”

The presenter also interviewed a British journalist who discovered vulnerable girls as young as 15 on the site.

Vogue was offered €20,000 online to go on a date, but declined. She’d have talked her way out of any proposal of sex, “but my 18-year-old self might not have been able to handle the situation”.

She added: My main concern is the younger girls getting involved. There are

so many girls in Ireland getting involved in this who don’t know what they’re getting into.

“They don’t even know the levels of consent, what they are consenting to when they get into a relationship.”

Vogue met Danish girl Olivia, who, has spent three years with sugar daddies. She said she never slept with them on a first date because “you have to make him want you”, but admitted she she “had to surrender many times”. Vogue: For Love or Money? airs on RTE Two on Tuesday at 10pm.
