Taliban raped hostage and killed baby

A HOSTAGE held by the Taliban with his family for almost five years has told how his wife was raped and their baby murdered.

Canadian Joshua Boyle and US wife Caitlan Coleman were abducted by the terror group while trying to help isolated villagers in Afghanistan.

Speaking after being rescued by Pakistani soldiers who shot out the tyres of a truck they were being carried in, Joshua, now 34. said his wife had been raped by a guard.

The baby, one of four children the couple had in captivity, was killed in revenge when he refused “an offer” from captors.

Joshua, now back in Toronto with Caitlin, 31, and their other children, said his family had shown “unparalleled resilience”.
