I found 8ft snake coiled round boiler

-

A MAN opened his airing cupboard to find an 8ft-long snake curled up on his hot water boiler.

David Dawes, 30, had gone to investigate after thinking he could hear a rat in his airing cupboard.

After shutting the door and calling the RSPCA, he put the serpent in a box to take to a pet shop nearby in Swansea, South Wales.

David said: “I put on my thickest flannel shirt and a pair of gardening gloves, and went in to say hello.

“My new friend didn’t appreciate being grabbed but he quickly settled in.”

The store identified the serpent as a Taiwan beauty rat snake, a constrictor that feeds on rodents.
