Four killed as cargo plane crashes in sea

FOUR people were killed when a cargo plane crashed into the sea near Ivory Coast’s Abidjan airport yesterday.

Military fire chief, Lieutenant Issa Sakho, said four Moldovans were killed while two Moldovans and four French citizens were injured.

He said 10 people were aboard the plane which was travelling from the capital of neighbouring Burkina Faso.

Student Ange Koutaye Ismael, 19, said he saw bodies carried out of the plane and the weather probably played a role.

He added: “I saw how planes seemed to have difficulties getting up.”
