Pauline stirs up crazy goings-on

Any comedy with Roisin Conaty at the helm is a sure-fire winner and her latest E4 offering Gameface is no exception. It follows the adventures of Marcella, played by Roisin herself, as she tries to make it in the world of acting. Pauline Mclynn plays her eccentric mother – a woman who values her cat Orlando every bit as much as she does her son and daughter. It’s familiar territory for the Fr Ted star who has brought her brand of crazy to a string of characters since her Mrs Doyle days. Ahead of the first episode this week, Pauline admitted: “Marcella might be a bit of a mess, but her brother is a maggot.
