LEO: RELIEF THE KEY WORD

-

LEINSTER boss Leo Cullen admitted he was a relieved man after watching the province earn a four-try bonus point win over Montpellier.

The French side splashed the cash in the summer as they aim to lift the European Cup for the first time, and hoped to send out a message to the continent against the three times European champs.

But Leinster had more than enough to deal with them, even without Johnny Sexton, Seán O’brien, Scott Fardy, Jamie Heaslip and Rob Kearney.

“I feel very relieved, I’m exhausted, it was stressful watching it,” Cullen said.

“I’m pleased with things overall, especially the outcome even if it wasn’t pretty at times.

“I knew it’d be a huge challenge. For a lot of young guys to step in, they showed bravery and courage.”
