Mourinho parks the bus as Klopp takes swipe at United boss

- BY NEIL MOXLEY

JURGEN KLOPP took a swipe at Jose Mourinho, claiming that no Liverpool manager would ever be allowed to park the bus.

Mourinho’s side showed little ambition at Anfield, and Klopp said: “You could not play this way if you are at Liverpool – but it’s OK for Manchester United.

“It was obvious that they had a more defensive approach. It

looked to me like they wanted a point. They defended with nine players in and around the box. We were dominant and we did well. But was it perfect? No.”

Chances were at a premium with rival keepers Simon Mignolet and David de Gea making only one real save of note each.

The Reds are now seven points behind their rivals and nine away from Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Mourinho was in combative mood afterwards. He was asked about Klopp’s (left) comments, snapping: ‘Don’t tell me what Jurgen said.

“I was waiting for him to go more attacking. It was chess but my opponent didn’t open the door for me to win the game.”
