‘Thoughts with hurricane dead’

LEO Varadkar has said his thoughts were with the loved ones of the three people killed by Hurricane Ophelia.

He was speaking at the Fine Gael Presidential Dinner in Dublin last night.

The Taoiseach said: “As we gather here tonight, I am conscious that Ireland this week was battered by storms.

“The first took three lives, including a brother of one of our local election candidates.

“Our thoughts are with their families tonight.”
