HOLLYWOOD star Colin Farrell has hinted he might take a break from acting. The Dubliner has had a hectic year, shooting three films including his most recent flick, The Killing of a Sacred Deer. The 41-year-old isn’t talking about retiring permanently, he just needs some time off. He said: “I’m so ready not to talk about films, to not see a camera, to not have any idea that things such as fame and acting exist.
“I am so ready to get the f***away. I have absolute gratitude for what I do for a living. I love it. But I want to step away and live a little.”
For his latest film, Farrell is again teaming up with director Yorgos Lanthimos, whom he worked with on The Lobster.
Farrell stars alongside Love/ Hate cat killer Barry Keoghan and legendary Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
Former drug and booze addict Farrell, who has been sober for more than a decade, also revealed he doesn’t feel like he lives a like an A-list star.
The dad of two said: “What is a celeb lifestyle? Out and about going to clubs?
“All that kind of jazz? I certainly did when I was in my 20s. We all know that.
“But now I love my work. More than I ever did. And I have done three films in a row. “Never done that before.” Farrell admitted he doesn’t get home as much as he would like to, but blasted the handling of the homeless crisis in Dublin.
He told the Irish Times: “There are an awful lot living on the streets. Look, I know I have no right to talk about that.
“But something has to be done about homelessness. It’s atrocious. “We are talking about it. But does that mean anything?”
