Carey ex-love says romance was ‘mistake’

MARIAH Carey’s billionaire ex-boyfriend James Packer has broken his silence on their failed engagement.

The Hero superstar, 47, and Australian businessman split last year – just nine months after he popped the question.

Packer, 50, has described the relationship as “a mistake”.

At the time, the breakup was blamed on Carey’s “extravagant spending” – and rows over her reality show Mariah’s World.

But, a year later, fatherof-three Packer has shared his side of the story.

He said: “I was at a low point in my personal life. She was kind, exciting and fun.

“Mariah is a woman of substance – but it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me.”
