WE’VE SCOT KILLER INSTINCT

- BY CIARAN O RAGHALLAIGH

RHYS RUDDOCK praised Leinster’s ruthless touch as they recorded a bonus point win over Glasgow Warriors in Scotstoun.

The Ireland back row (right) was the man of the match after an all round display against a Scottish side who knew they had to win to stay in contention to qualify from the hugely competitive pool.

“It was a really good performance that we can be happy with,” Ruddock said. “We knew Glasgow were a really proud team that wouldn’t lie down after coming so close to a win last week in Exeter. We knew some aspects of our game would have to be right: our maul, our scrum, which was good, and that gave us a chance to have a crack at them, when the game opened up. “We didn’t have too many opportunities in the first half, so when we got penalites we were able to go to our drive, get momentum from that. “It was something we spoke about during the week, and we were able to get some scores from that. We were looking at first two games as must wins.”
