H&M’S Erd act to follow

High Street collaboration a huge hit

- DEMELZA DE BURCA with

IF you only buy one thing this season make it a piece from Erdem’s stunning collaboration with H&M. The red carpet favourite is famed for his use of exquisite fabrics, vibrant prints and detailed craftsmanship.

Earlier this week, some of our favourite fashion stars toasted to the collection, with a catwalk show and launch party in Los Angeles.

Designer Erdem Moralıoglu was on hand for the launch of his first collab which boasted his signature romantic, dark blooms and menswear-inspired pieces.

Moralıoglu said: “I found myself very much influenced by how the men’s pieces looked on women, and how some of the women’s pieces looked on men.

“So there was this exchange – that kind of tension between something formal and informal. There was this definite kind of fluidity between men and women that I found really fascinating.” The London based Canadian and Turkish fashion designer, who founded the label in 2005, is a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge. And some of Moralıoglu’s A-list fans came out to show their support including Alexa Chung in a floral slip maxi dress and Kate Bosworth in the dreamy snowdrop ballgown which hits shelves in Ireland and online on November 2. Other highlights from the collection include Victorian blouses, multicoloured, floral-print jacquard dresses, tailored suits and a leopard-print faux fur coat with silk ribbon trim (€199). demelza.deburca@irishmirror.ie
