Pope’s fears for Europe

-

POPE Francis yesterday voiced concern over the future of Europe and warned now is not the time to “dig trenches”.

The Pontiff recalled how the European Union was formed in the fallout of two world wars and noted “creativity” is now needed.

He also criticised low birth rates and urged more help for young people preparing their future path in society.

He said Europe was suffering from “a period of dramatic sterility”.
