Your op
I perforated my eardrums while scuba diving at 17, and have had ear pressure problems ever since.
Last year I spoke to my audiologist, who mentioned ENT surgeon Mr James Tysome’s procedure called balloon dilation of the eustachian tube. My GP referred me to the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, where Mr Tysome carried out a one-hour op under general anaesthetic in January.
He inserted a balloon into my nose and eustachian tube and slowly inflated it.
An ear pressure test six weeks later showed my reading as normal and I can now fly abroad without pain.
