No high for Hingis

MARTINA HINGIS ended her career with defeat at the WTA Finals doubles semifinal yesterday.

The 37-year-old Swiss star, who has won 25 Grand Slam titles in singles and doubles, lost 6-4 7-6 (5) with her partner Chan Yung-jan of Taiwan (both above) to Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova.

“It’s been an amazing journey and a career I can be proud of,” said Hingis.
