Trump sides with Russia to take on IS
US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has agreed to join Russia in its fight against the IS, according to the Kremlin.
Moscow officials said on Saturday Trump had met with Vladimir Putin three times within 24 hours at a summit in Vietnam.
While there was no comment from the White House, a statement released by the Kremlin said leaders had “agreed the conflict in Syria has no military solution”.
They also confirmed their “determination to defeat ISIS” and called on all parties to take part in the Geneva peace process.
The leaders promised to keep channels of communication open, according to Russia’s Interfax news agency.
