Bill’s Buzz-ing after parade with Aldrin
NEW York’s mayor has revealed he was “totally starstruck” when he met astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
The Apollo 11 legend joined Bill de Blasio for the city’s Veterans’ Day parade yesterday.
The 87-year-old was the second man on the moon, following Neil Armstrong on to the surface in 1969.
Air Force General Ellen Pawlikowski also attended the ceremony.
Mr de Blasio urged the US to do more than just pay tribute to veterans, calling for better access to mental health and medical care and more job opportunities.
He later tweeted: “Let us remember the brave sacrifice of our nation’s men and women who have served.”
