Cocaine haul worth €100m on the streets
A COCAINE haul of 1.2 tonnes could have sold on the streets for €100million, police claim.
Three Britons – one of them a long-distance lorry driver – and two Spaniards were arrested in one of the biggest busts for the Class A drug on Spanish soil.
Police chief Eugenio Pereiro said: “They are suspected members of an organised gang.”
Around 678 kilos were found in an HGV on Costa Tropical, near Granada, and 531 kilos at a property in Zarautz, near San Sebastian, a 570-mile drive away.
Most of the cocaine, from Bolivia, was to be taken to Britain by road.
