Tests halt silent killer

-

EXPERTS have previously urged businesses and households to get their premises tested for radon gas

Some of the highest readings of radon gas ever recorded were found

in offices of The Corkman newspaper in Mallow, Co Cork.

The reading was 60 times higher than the acceptable limit.

The RPII’S Chief Executive, Dr Ann Mcgarry, said over 100,000 homes and offices are estimated to be at risk and while The Corkman took the appropriate action, many others were not being tested for radon.
