GARDAI PROBE AFTER TEEN’S SHOT IN HEAD
19-yr-old critical in hospital following brutal gun attack
GARDAI have appealed for witnesses after a teenager was shot in the head.
The shocking incident happened at around 11pm on Friday near Liffey Valley shopping centre in Dublin.
The 19-year-old from the area was found in the garden of a house when he was rushed to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he remains in a critical condition.
Garda forensic officers could still be seen in the property when an appeal was made for witnesses to the attack in Shancastle Park, Clondalkin, to come forward. Supt John Gordon said: “We are following a number of lines of enquiry.
“Once we received the call gardai
were on the scene within a matter of minutes and there was a heavy Garda presence here last night. We are appealing for witnesses to come forward or those with information to contact us at the incident room at Lucan Garda station.” Meanwhile, in a separate Friday night shooting a man in his late teens was shot in the stomach in Ballymun. Bullets were fired at a house in Barnwell Drive at around 2.30am. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
