Tragic Rachel family slam wife killer O’reilly Parents tell of their torment in RTE series
O’reilly on the Late Late Rachel and Jim and re-enacted the crime. Jim added: “He brought us up to the bedroom and said, ‘She was lying there. You know whoever done it was battering her on the back of the head like this’.
“There was blood spattered all around the walls and up on the ceiling. His eyes were bouncing and I said to myself, ‘We’re with a madman’. He was pure evil.”
O’reilly played the grieving widower for weeks after he battered the mother of his kids – describing her savage Fr Pat Collins slaying in graphic detail. He even sat alongside Rose on the Late Late Show as they issued an appeal for help in catching her killer.
The 75-year-old said: “I just feel we were touched by evil when Rachel died. That day I came out of that house [after the re-enactment] and I knew without a shadow of a doubt he had done it.
“To know it was planned, well I don’t think you could do anything like that Ms de Canonville and have a conscience.” The couple reveal their contempt for O’reilly in a RTE show about evil tonight and psychotherapist Christine Louis de Canonville believes the root cause is narcissism. She said: “A narcissist is someone who has an inflated sense of self. They lack empathy. They will exploit and manipulate and seduce. “Then there’s the psychopath, who is narcissistic but is also sadistic, antisocial and paranoid. They are violent and take pleasure in causing harm.” Exorcist priest Pat Collins believes there is evil all around us – but it is caused by spirits. He said: “We are living in dangerous times. “The supernatural dimension is impinging on people and has to be taken into consideration.” Evil: A Would You Believe?
