Joey blow for Ireland
IRELAND boss Joe Schmidt fears Joey Carbery sustained a fractured arm in his new-look side’s victory over Fiji at the Aviva Stadium. Carbery, 22, started at out-half in place of Johnny Sexton in a side that included 13 changes from the one that steamrolled South Africa last Saturday.
But Ireland allowed Fiji to recover from a 17-3 deficit to level it up at 20-20 and it took Ian Keatley’s 72nd minute penalty to secure the home victory.
“I think he’s fractured his left forearm, it’s not displaced as far as I know.
“So he won’t take any further part in the Guinness Series for US.”SEE
