Snow on the way but it’s a wet Xmas
MET Eireann has forecast that snow could hit Ireland from today onwards.
But it will be more a case of a wet Christmas than a white one.
A spokesman said: “A transition to a more unsettled period from Christmas Eve onwards with the risk of frost and ice returning, some heavy rain and the threat of wintry precipitation also.
“Wet and windy, as a band of heavy and persistent rain in the north and west gradually spreads southeastwards overnight.
“Christmas Day will be wet in many parts, with further heavy rain in places. It will be a lot colder towards evening with a risk of sleet.”
