Rotherham child sex toll ‘rises by 110’
COPS have identified another 110 possible Rotherham child sex abuse victims – and believe offenders are still at large.
A report suggested 1,400 kids as young as 11 were abused in the South Yorkshire town between 1997 and 2013 by mainly British-pakistani men.
But after scouring 100,000 documents, cops fear the true toll is 1,510.
Paul Williamson, Senior Investigating Officer at the National Crime Agency, said 34 probes are ongoing.
But just 253 potential victims have been spoken to and 104 suspects identified. Mr Williamson said: “This is the UK’S largest single investigation into child exploitation ever.”
So far 38 suspects have been arrested, 18 charged and two sentenced.
