Man killed in car tragedy

ONE man has died following a road accident in Co Longford.

The single-car collision occurred at 12.45am yesterday outside Newtownforbes.

A Garda spokesman said: “The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man, who was the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Longford Garda station on 043-335057.”
