US wildfire is biggest ever
THE deadly wildfire which has destroyed more than 700 homes is the largest in California’s history.
The fire, named Thomas, has raged over nearly 250,000 acres, an area bigger than Paris, Brussels and New York combined.
Thousands of firefighters have battled the blaze that broke out early December in Santa Paula.
A warming climate and building in wildernesses have contributed to the number of wildfires in the state, say scientists.
