Aardvark dies & meerkats missing

He said: “We’re devastated that Misha has been killed and we’re still trying to find out what happened to the meerkats. I’m not optimistic at this stage. “Misha was a very popular animal. Some of the keepers have had support for shock – the emotional impact is enormous.” Another aardvark named Kiyo, who was Misha’s best pal, survived the drama. Zoo staff said they were “immensely grateful” to London Fire Brigade for the speed it reacted with. Last night investigat­ors were looking into the cause of the fire and police were helping trawl CCTV.
