Mccarthy is sold on new start with Sam
JAMES MCCARTHY is set to extend his stay at Everton after new boss Sam Allardyce sanctioned a new deal.
The 27-year-old (above) was unhappy with life at Goodison Park under Ronald Koeman and almost joined Crystal Palace last summer. But the Irish international is settled again, following the Dutchman’s exit and Allardyce’s arrival last month, and has been convinced by Big Sam that he still has a role to play at the club. ALAN PARDEW is lining up a move to take out-of-favour Stoke defender Glen Johnson (below) to West Brom. The former England right-back, 33, is out of contract in the summer and would be avaliable to Albion for a nominal fee.
