Niagara won’t go with floe
TEMPERATURES plunged faster than the Niagara yesterday – freezing over parts of the world famous waterfalls.
As America braced itself for lows of -30°C this weekend, sightseers braved the conditions to take snaps of huge icicles forming at the 188ft Horseshoe Falls, one of three at the landmark on the Us/canada border.
One of the worst freezes at the Falls was in 1911 when an ice bridge across one of them collapsed, killing three sightseers.
