Man arrested in €10k heroin raid at centre

GARDAI have arrested a man and seized around €10,000 worth of heroin in a raid at a mall.

Detectives observed suspicious activity at around 4pm on Friday at the Hazelwood Shopping Centre in Riverstown, Glanmire, on the outskirts of Cork city.

They seized the drugs from a car during what was said to be a “handover”.

Officers arrested a man believed to be in his 20s or 30s, who is reported to be a foreign national.

He was detained under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act at Mayfield Garda station.
